We have had a true mystery at our house this week. (No, it wasn't who ate the last cookie...we all know it was me.) The mystery has been "Why is Dallin so blasted sick?!!!"
The story begins last Saturday, moments before the egg hunt. Dallin got a bee sting on his little hand. Unfortunately, the misery didn't end there. On our way to the festitivies, we had to abruptly brake to avoid hitting another vehicle. Then, on Sunday, Dallin suddenly came down with a high fever and an extremely bruised hand where the bee got him. On Monday, we noticed unexplained bruising on his legs. Naturally, we were very concerned and puzzled.
After one exray and a doctor's office "we don't know what the virus is, but it is a virus" diagnosis, we braved yet another day. Fevers in the 103+ range for several days. Extreme irritability/sleepiness with an inability to sleep. Reduced appetitie. Mild diarreia. Red eyes.
How is this a mystery, you're wondering. Or, are you wondering why you're still reading this boring post? Well, the good news is that a non-itchy and non-painful telltale rash appeared today that unlocked the mystery.
Dallin has roseola. He also was unfortunately, stung by a bee last week.
Mr. Google says it's a mild viral condition (tell that to two very-sleep deprived people in our house tonight) that should run its course soon. Thank you.
And the mystery that is solved?
This was the exact ailment that plauged Abby near her 1st birthday. Unfortuately, she got it not long after a tamiflu shot and we didn't recognize it. I am truly happy to know about the existance of this infection. Thank you!

Roseola (sp?) is no fun. We haven't had it at our house (yet) but neighbors have. I hope he feels better fast! And I hope you can all get a good night's rest!!!
I checked out the google images for the rash, what a bummer.
