Happy Labor Day Weekend

This photo was taken at my parents' house a few weeks ago. Notice the 16 rows of corn in the background. My parents are empty-nesters, so it is a little crazy to think of one woman watering, weeding, and picking all of that corn!
My mom used to tell us that Labor Day was a celebration of work, so that's why we always canned over the three day weekend. Yes, mom, I did notice that others were going to Disneyland or camping on their Labor Day. Since I married, this weekend has taken on new meaning for me. It's turned into the last full weekend of archery hunting in the regular season. Go figure. If you're bored on Monday, give me a call. I'll be home cleaning and generally laboring.
