Things That Never Last at our House!

Things that never last at our house:

10. Frozen yogurt and/or ice cream. We are hooked. You have never seen a little beggar, quite like Abby, when she sees us enjoying a bowl. She begs and is always quite successful at soliciting several spoonfuls. (When you expect a certain amount of dessert, and a good chunk of it disappears into a little mouth, it’s impossible not to walk back to the freezer.) A half gallon lasts us about a week.

9. Diapers. It’s shocking to realize just how many jumbo boxes of diapers we buy.

8. Clean clothes. Cracker crumbs gone soggy, doggy licks, all 8 of Abby’s daily meals? A good portion always ends up on our clothes, somewhere. Most of the time I notice before work, but I have been surprised with spots and blots more than once.

7. Books, magazines, and internet readings on bees. Riley loves reading about this stuff and would do it for hours a day, if he could. He has recently become interested in building a honey house on our property in Fairview. It would be solar powered and underground. It was all planned out in his mind. Give us a few years, and we’ll give you a tour.

6. Milk. We all drink together. We do 3 gallons a week?

5. Cereal. See #6. I bought 20+ boxes in January while on sale. We have easily eaten half of them.

4. Weekends/holidays! Enough said.

3. Tears. Riley is such a soft-hearted guy. He doesn’t care if Abby wakes up 5 times in the night. He wants her to be held and snuggled and loved. He hates to see his little girl in pain and will do anything to take the misery away. He melts at tears. (Actually, his tenderness isn’t limited to Abby. He is just as sensitive to my tears. He always makes me laugh)

2. Summer and sunshine! All of our hobbies are centered around warm weather: fishing, hunting, bees, gardening, walking, camping, etc. We are destined to be snowbirds later in life.

1. Free time. We always wish we had just a little bit more together.
